Ways of controlling Air pollution

1. Regular inspection of old vehicles is a must. The old vehicles release more polluted smoke than the new one.

2. The commercial advertisements of cigarette and tobacco should be banned. The various campaigns against smoking should be carried out.

3. The various programs on reforestation should be launched. Hence, the forest is conserved. As a result, air pollution is minimized.

4. An introduction of smoke-filter at the source can reduce air pollution caused by the vehicles, factories, and industries.

5. Encouraging bicycles in urban areas can minimize air pollution to some extent. Because bicycles do not emit smoke.

6. Promotion of smokeless stoves can reduce air pollution.

7. The alternative source of energy should be used instead of fuels. The various examples of the alternative source of energy are battery, electricity, solar power, etc.

Solid wastes, factories, and industries, crowds, the huge number of vehicles are the source of air pollution.

Ways of controlling Land pollution

1. The garbage wastes should be collected systematically. It should be properly disposed at the dumping site.

2. The composted manure does not pollute the land. Therefore, biodegradable wastes must be changed into compost manure.

3. The use of chemical fertilizers should be minimized.

4. The use of insecticides and pesticides should be minimized as much as possible.

5. A number of household wastes should be thrown in the proper place. The wastes must be kept to the minimum.

6. The disposal wastes from the factories and industries should be treated properly.

7. The solid and liquid wastes from the hospitals should be disposed of.

8. Papers, polyethylene, and bottles can be reused and recycled.

Ways of controlling Noise pollution

1. Sound absorbers should be kept in cinema halls, huge buildings, schools, colleges, party palaces, etc.whenever possible.

2. Factories, industries, disco, pubs, party palaces, etc.should be established little away from the residential areas.

3. Battery and solar energy operated vehicles should be promoted.

4. Trees should be planted on either side of the road. It acts as a Sound insulator.

5. People's awareness should be promoted.

6. People should not open radio, television, sound system too loud volume.

7. No use of loud horns. It causes noise pollution.

8. Old vehicles and machines should be maintained from time to time.

Ways of controlling Water pollution

1. Drainage and sewage wastes should not be passed to the water sources.

2. Hospital, industrial and trade wastes should not be passed to the river.

3. Defecation on the banks of rivers, ponds and water sources should be discouraged.

4. Public awareness programs regarding water pollution should be carried out.

5. Industrial wastes should be discharged properly.

6. People should not bathe or wash clothes in or near the water source.

7. Organic manure and pesticides should be promoted instead of chemical fertilizers and insecticides, etc.

The different disposal wastes from the factories and industries pollute the water. The polluted water from sewage, industrial and trade wastes, fertilizers and pesticides (insecticides) used for agricultural purposes are the main reasons for water pollution. Chemicals from hospitals are also the other reason for water pollution. In the urban areas, the connection of drinking water pipe with the drainage has led to water pollution.
