What is Family?
It is the basic unit of society which consists of husband, wife and their one or more children who are related by blood or adoption or marriage and are dependent upon one another. There are two types of family. They are Joint family and Separate family.A joint family consists of grandparents, parents and their brothers and sisters, and also their children. It is also called an extended family. A separate family is also known as a nuclear family which refers to a husband, his wife, and their unmarried children. It is small and simple which is easier to plan education, clothing and other expenses.
In comparison to the nuclear family, a joint family has many benefits. There are many hands to share the work in the family. It is easier to cope with the hardships or problems together. The main important advantages of a joint family are that the cultural values are handed over greatly from generation to generation through joint families.
The importance of Family
It fulfills the biological, physical and emotional needs of the family members. It also socializes the children, preserves culture and values, provides education and health care services, shares responsibilities to each other, manages the resource for the family, provides security and recreation to the children, and create the healthful environment in the home.Need and importance of family
1. It socializes the children. Many social norms, values, and customs are taught to the children by the elder family members.The family is the first learning institution of the children. Father and mother are the primary teachers of the children.
2. It fulfills the biological, physical and emotional needs of the family members. The different family members need biological, physical and emotional support in their life.
3. It provides education and health care services. When we are sick, there is a family to care for and support us. They provide us with moral support and medical help. They provide us fees when we see the doctors for the treatment. They are our fundraiser.
4. A better care of infants, sick, disabled and elderly people are only possible if there is a family.
5. It shares responsibilities with each other. If there are any problems and troubles, or any economic burden then each family member contributes some to the family to cope with it.
6. Creates a healthful environment in the home. If there is a healthy environment in the home, there is a peaceful mind and a happy family.
Responsibilities to be fulfilled to become Good parents
1. It is a huge responsibility of a good parent to fulfill child's needs and their desires. A good parent always cares their children to any extent.2. To establish a healthy family relationship, a good parent always plays a vital role.
3. Both the mother and father played an important role in looking after and caring for the children.
4. Provide good education to the child so that their children become doctors, engineers, etc in the future.
