Child abuse includes acts of commission and omission. Acts of the commission are deliberate and intentional. Some examples include physical abuse, sexual abuse, and psychological abuse. Acts of omission are the failure to provide educational, emotional and physical needs, or to protect a child from harm some examples includes physical neglect, emotional neglect, medical and dental neglect, educational neglect, inadequate supervision medical and exposure to violent environments. About 1 in 7 children experience some form of child abuse or neglect in the last year.
But, we know the problem is underreported that’s why a consistent definition is very important. We can stop child abuse and neglect before it starts. We can work together to promote safe stable and nurturing relationships and environments that support all children so all children reach their full potential. By strengthening economic support to families, social norms changes, supporting parents and positive parenting, healthy child development intervenes, and many more positive steps can help in overcoming child abuse. These strategies help to create families, neighborhoods, and communities where every child thrives.
Further, the closest persons to a child are his/her parents. They could help themselves first. When the little or big problems pile up and when you feel overwhelmed and out of control the parents could simply take their time out. They shouldn’t take it out on their kid. They could also get involved and ask the community leaders and ask the library, or schools to develop services to meet the needs of healthy children and family. The other technique can be introduced by promoting programs in schools and colleges. They could monitor their children television, video and internet viewing/usage. As excessively watching violent films, videos and TV programs can harm your children.
The most and very important thing the parents should do to avoid child abuse is to support their children and be a nurturing parent. They need to know that they are special, loved and capable of following their dreams. Through, the adults and from their lives they prototype what they learn and experience. Those children who have watched parent violence and abuse over one another they may follow this later in their adult life with their partners. So, breaking this future cycle is very important by offering counseling, support, and services to these children. Thus, this is for the parents and the closed ones of their kid if you want to see your child happy and successful you should start taking action, follow good ways to cherish your child and work diligently towards it.
